Using the mouse

You can use a mouse or pointing device to move around and explore the map.

Click and hold the left mouse button and drag the map to move it.
Shift + Click left mouse

Hold Shift and click the left mouse button to center the map at that spot.
Zoom in Mouse wheel

Scroll the mouse wheel forward or up to zoom in. Each scroll wheel tick will zoom the map in by about 50 percent in width and height.
Double-click left mouse

Double-click the left mouse button on the map. The map will zoom in about 50 percent in width and height.
Shift + Click-hold left mouse
Left-mouse button
Hold shift + click and hold the left mouse button down on the map at one corner of the area of interest and drag the mouse to the other opposite corner, and release the mouse button. The map will zoom in to the area of the rectangle.

Click the top button on the zoom level control to zoom in. Some maps may have tics between the top and bottom buttons, which may be clicked to zoom to a specific scale level.

Scroll the mouse wheel backward or down to zoom out. Each scroll wheel tick will zoom the map out by about 50 percent in width and height.
Shift + Ctrl + Click-hold left mouse

Hold shift + ctrl + click and hold the left mouse button down on the map at one corner, drag the mouse to create a rectangle, and release the mouse button. The map will zoom out based on the size of the rectangle.
